( dur : 8" )

This narrative composition was based on the famous poem, first published in the late 1800s by Ernest L. Thayer.  The piece was commissioned by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and was given its first performance in April, 2001 by that ensemble; Pat Sajak served as narrator, under the direction of Richard Kaufman.  CASEY AT THE BAT is scored for large, Romantic Orchestra (WWs in 3s)and is available on a rental-only basis from the distributor.  This work makes a wonderful "Americana" addition to any Pops concert, particularly if a notable actor or luminary is engaged to perform the narrative duties.

This piece has been transcribed by the composer for Symphonic Wind Ensemble and may be purchased in this form: [ RBM - 211 ] .
